Due to conflicting schedule, I will not be able to attending this wonderful event. Please update your calendar as necessary. Sorry for the late change. Jessica's J-Walkers will still be there and you can contact Paul Shapiro to continue their hardwork.

As a result, this will be a no-host event!!!!!

Join us for a healthy walk around Dodger Stadium as we help to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) in its Walk to Cure Diabetes.

I am cross-posting this event with my Local Thai Food Meetup to get the maximum number of participation to help this worthy cause.

Let's meet at 9 AM in front of the Jessica's J-Walkers booth.
After the walk, we will head off to a local Thai restaurant. Check back for details on this.

Where To Meet

JDRF recommends that you get to Dodger Stadium before 9 AM on the day of the event. As such, let's meet at 9 AM in front of the Jessica's J-Walkers booth (#T8). This booth is near the left field pavilion. If you are going to be late (past start time of 10 AM), please call me so I can make arrangements to meet after the Walk.

Don't forget to pick up your Jessica's J-Walker and JDRF T-shirts at the booth.

What is the JDRF?

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF)
120 Wall Street
New York, New York 10005-4001
800-533-CURE (2873)
E-mail: ][masked]

JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.

Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $900 million to diabetes research, including more than $98 million in FY2005. In FY2005, the Foundation funded 500 centers, grants and fellowships in 19 countries.

Additional Information

  • More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.
  • JDRF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation. All donations to JDRF and its chapters and branches are tax-deductible.
  • JDRF has received top rankings from the American Institute of Philanthropy and other independent sources that rate charitable giving.

Why Walk?

As many as 3 million Americans* have type 1 diabetes, a disease most often diagnosed in childhood that strikes suddenly, lasts a lifetime, and carries the constant threat of deadly complications, including heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney failure, and amputation. JDRF's mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Thanks to dramatic research progress, a cure is now within our reach.

The Walk draws people together in a healthy activity for a worthy cause, raising money to help find a cure for diabetes. It's fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. Above all, it's an event you will feel good about being a part of.
