Thai New Year Festival of 2009 : A big united event of Thai society in USA
Due to the hard hit of political crisis in Thailand during the last quarter of 2008 on the Thai tourism industry plus the US economic recession, the Thai New Year’s Day committee led by Mr. Surasuk Wongkaluang have a consensus agreement to name a theme of 2009 Thai New Year festival as “Amazing Thailand” to promote Thailand’s tourism.
With the aim of promoting Thailand’s tourism, the Thai New Year’s Day committee will collaborate with Thai government sectors (i.e. Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and etc.) and other organizations in the USA, including “Thailand’s Team” (Royal Thai Consulate General in LA, Thai Trade Center, Board Of Investment, Thai Airway International, Bangkok Bank, and Farmers Bank) to strongly increase the confidence of international tourists toward Thailand and bring back the success of Thailand’s travel industry.
