Meetup Description: My friend's meetup group, The Cantonese Language Group, has been doing community service events for years. I've attended many of their events and thought I should give our group an opportunity to give back also.

Habitat for Humanity (www.habitat.org) is a non-profit organization who has worked with low income families to build affordable housing for over 125,000 families worldwide in 83 countries. Habitat for Humanity's goal is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. To date, Habitat for Humanity has provided more than 625,000 people with safe, decent, affordable shelter.

On June 27th, LocalThaiFood Group will have an opportunity to work on a housing project with the Habitat for Humanity team in the San Gabriel Valley. We will assist the Habitat for Humanity team with some minor home construction such as patching and painting.
